The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity. We were commissioned to design and develop an interactive tool for the award winning Nature Detectives website that helps school children learn about wildlife. Funded by Environment & Heritage Service and the Department of the Environment, the learning tool allows children and teachers to create and save PDF nature spotter sheets. The project was a year in development including 6 months of testing with over 500 children and teachers. We have had much favourable feedback from schools including the following:
"It is a WONDERFUL resource. I had children aged from 5-9 using the PCs with parents/grandparents. They made a range of spotter sheets and I know we will use it again. Some have used it at home too to create a spotter sheet before going out on a walk in the woods; how fantastic is that! The LAB is also a great resource to support the teaching of ICT objectives in Key Stage 1."
The project has come to an end but we have left a non-working version up in our portfolio.
BioCop is a five year project that has been constructed to supply regulators, consumers and industry with long-term solutions to the problems associated with chemical contaminant monitoring. Integralvision was invited to be a contractor by the European Commission to provide a wide range of services to the BioCop Consortium. The BioCop Project includes 32 partners representing 16 EU Member States.
As a Technology Provider Integralvision is responsible for the IT and administration of this FP6 Project. As well as developing their website, ongoing tasks include maintaining both the public and member's areas, the organisation of conferences worldwide and liaising with the partner organisations. We employ a full time Account Manager for this role.
English Nature (recently renamed Natural England), is a Government organisation charged with promoting nature conservation and protecting biodiversity throughout the English landscape. They seek to promote sustainabile use and protection of the environment in a national effort to address climate change.
The HEATH project itself is looking to protect the declining heathland across Western Europe and benefits from the joint efforts of organisations such as The National Trust, English Heritage and the Eden Project.
Integralvision was commissioned to produce a new web site for their Europe-wide HEATH project.
Integralvision has supplied the new design for the official Dartmoor National Park Authority (DNPA) web site. We beat both Devon based and national competition to win the tender for this project.
We worked closely with the DNPA designing and building a series of templates to integrate with their inhouse content management system. We were also asked to create three Flash children's games for the Fun Zone area. You can see several of the games in our Flash portfolio.
Most recently we were called in to develop another new game based on Farming on Dartmoor. This game is available to view in our Multimedia Portfolio.
We were approached by University College London (UCL) to produce an animation of their logo to be projected as part of the UCL Graduation Ceremony. You can see our work in the photograph of the ceremony on the right.
Broadband4Devon was launched in November 2003 and was part-funded by the European Union as well as ten partners who provide additional funding, knowledge and resources. The purpose of Broadband4Devon was to contribute to the economic success of Devon by providing the ICT knowledge and subsidies to help businesses connect to broadband, and then use broadband as part of a successful business growth strategy. The project ended in March 2007.
Integralvision was responsible for the design and management of the Broadband4Devon web site. This involved developing a custom postcode checker for people to be able to make sure they were within the funding area. The site also featured an updatable news area, FAQs and links page.
The Barn Owl Trust is a registered charity dedicated to conserving the Barn Owl and its environment. The Barn Owl Trust is at the centre of Barn Owl conservation in the UK.
The site is almost totally controlled by the Trust with the ability to generate new pages and areas, upload PDFs, add owl photos to the extensive owl photo library and lots more besides. As part of the trust's fund raising efforts, visitors to the site can purchase special owl related gifts using a custom built shopping cart.
The River Tamar, together with its tributaries the Rivers Tavy and Lynher, forms part of the ancient border between the counties of Cornwall and Devon. The River runs almost sixty miles from the north coast near Bude, south to Plymouth Sound and almost separates Cornwall from the rest of England. The Tamar Valley Tourism Association (TAVATA) was formed in 2001 to encourage and promote quality tourism in the area. It is a not-for-profit organisation and the membership includes all business with an interest in tourism.
The website has been built to allow the public to quickly find places to stay, places to visit, things to do, places to eat, and things to buy within the Tamar Valley. The site is fully updateable by the client.
The National Approved Premises Association (NAPA) is a national voluntary organisation that acts as a consortium to bring together all voluntary and probation managed Approved Premises (formerly known as the National Association of Probation and Bail Hostels). This is in furtherance of the work they do in providing these community based residential facilities. NAPA has been involved in the support and development of approved residential provision for offenders since 1942, working in partnership with government and a wide range of organisations that are actively involved in the provision of approved residential premises.
Their new website was developed to support secure exchange of information between members and includes a documents downloads area. Most of the website is controlled by the client using a Content Management System (CMS).
Commissioned by English Nature (Natural England), with partners in Holland, France, Wales, and England, The HEATH (Heathland, Environment, Agriculture, Tourism, Heritage) Project aims to reverse some of the decline in Europe's heathland. Funded through Interreg and the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project is reconnecting sites, advocating good land management techniques, encouraging local community involvement and promoting heathlands as a valuable resource.
This dual-language site is totally controlled by English Nature using a custom built Content Management System (CMS). Features include Flash animated maps showing the location of the heath projects, integrated Flash image gallery and an updateable News area.
The Devon County Association for the Blind (DCAB) offers help and support to people with a visual impairment in Devon. The Association was first established as a charity in 1925. The Association has moved on considerably since the early days of "home teachers" for "blind people" who taught canework and knitting. They now offer a range of high tech equipment as well as IT lessons and so it was an obvious next step to ask Integralvision to build them their first web site.
The site design was closely co-ordinated with members of DCAB and meets the Web Site Accessibility Guidelines (WAG) double AA compliance.
Integralvision had always felt ashamed of the original town web site (our company started out based in Ashburton), so we jumped at the chance of developing a new one.
Almost totally database driven, the site content is controlled by the Town Council and the local Tourist Office. We like to think it is now firmly part of the local community, with local events, local news, minutes of the Town Council meetings, a town map, a guide to local businesses and accommodation - the list of features goes on and on.
